In memory of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, we still have a lot of work to do. We must never stop reforming. Semper reformanda as the saying goes, we must always reform! Rome still has to fully reform herself. Hence I have posted a video and also some verses showing what areas Rome must reform herself in:
I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another. (1Cor. 4:6) – The sole highest authority in all questions for all people at all times is the Scripture alone!
To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. (Romans 3:26-28) – Salvation is by faith alone and grace alone, we cannot do anything for our salvation. God’s standard is perfection, just as Adam was perfect, but we miss this mark, and only the righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ covers our sin!
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men;) (1Kings 8:39) – Only God knows the heart of men, only God can hear prayer – praying to Mary and the saints is sin!
And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom. (Matthew 26:27-29) – Jesus Christ commanded that the wine be served to all people, not just the bread. Also, the bread and wine do not transform into the body and blood of Christ, therefore the Mass is idolatry! Jesus will come again only at the end of time, not in the Mass (Acts 1:11)!
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. (John 14:16-17) – Jesus Christ left the Holy Spirit in His place, not a mere, sinful mortal human, such as the pope. The office of pope is nowhere to be found among the church offices listed in Ephesians 4:11! Jesus Christ is the chief cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20)! The Old Testament church preceded Rome (Acts 7:38)!
And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. (Luke 16:26) – There are only two compartments in the afterlife, heaven and hell, no intermediate place where you are purged of your sins, such as purgatory, which is mere fiction!
A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; (1Tim. 3:2, see also Titus 1:6) – The bishop (presbiter) must be married. Priestly celibacy is contrary to the Bible and must be abolished!
